Electronic Civilization Green Building projects on a city size scale are beginning with the help of the GGGI (global green growth Institute) at www.gggi.org. One project in Abu Dhabi called Masdar City is a highly developed concept. Check it out at www.masdarcity.ae.
Absolutely awesome development ! One wonders if this and other green building developments will add on the other necessary components of the EC such as: Resource Based Economy (see www.zmca.org: Orientation Guide, www.thevenusproject.com) which may need the transition step of Electronic Exchange ( www.irta.com). and Direct Democracy (policy determined by direct vote, online computer modeling, no representatives). I can easily imagine that Human Rights and Social Freedom might be lacking in a country with a religious legal system, and a monetary classist atmosphere. I can imagine that the shift to EC will come from many directions, including the environmental (technology: green building, RE, high speed trains, etc.) and the social ( direct democracy, lifestyle GLBT, Poly tolerance, gender equality, etc. (www.uupoly.org).
