"Been a long time" Led Zepplin

"Been a long time, since Rock and Roll....." LZ
"Goin to California with an Achin' in my heart"..... LZ 4
I'm in California mining for a heart of gold again. Left Arizona as there is no inexpensive land with water there. Here in the Sierra Nevada Gold Country, there is, and maybe even some gold besides, went gold panning and swimming , looking at the landscapes and peoplescapes to find the right place to begin a community. Rani and Stasia are coming over soon to look at land and I'm researching the new Fuel Cell developments (Honda Clarity, Air Products sewage to hydrogen and solar/hydrogen). I'm taking a traumatic brain injured person out on local trips, and beginning a new career in Energy Auditing. I'll be taking a course in Sept. for the Sierra Business Council (sbcouncil.org) who are a council of businesses in the  Green Living/Technology fields. I hope to find a position with one of them and begin to implement Electronic Civilization systems. I think the Tahoe area is ripe for fuel cells powered by hydrogen from municipal waste, snow protected photovoltaics and wind turbines. The Ski Areas' and Resorts use a lot of electricity which could be generated in these ways. The Building efficiencies can be another huge area of advancement with the need for massive remodeling for solar light, heat and elec. panels, and insulation. Local hydrogen bus and fuel cell car pool for transportation and greenhouse organic fuel production co-generation from heat are great prospects because Tahoe is so vibrant and isolated.

Atmospherics

I've been acquiring some of the greatest music ever, of course in my opinion, in the vaults of Amazon from which one can now find the rare and impossible to find easily ! The excellent sound waves have been enveloping my ears and consciousness from the archives of : Osamu 1977 with Yesterday and Karma, Paris with Bob Welch of Fleetwood Mac, ZAZU with itsnottasonatta but its close, Starcastle, First Seven Days , Jan Hammer with Darkness in search of a Sun, Neil Merryweather and the Space Rangers, Mahogany Rush. Been having a wild time !! Music from the Seventies of this excellence has been impossible to find until now, having a blast with my sound systems ! The Japanese, Electronic, LSD Rock, Jazz Fusion, classical mergers and other peak insights were magnificent, so happy to be adding them to the library of Culture for the Ecovillage project. Love ya , for now, Theodore

Democracy, Population and Technology

Democracy is History. Corporations rule the World.
                               (see zeitgeistmovie.com, www.thevenusproject.com)
Good, Evil and Neutrality are the only issues.
We are seeing the Arab world explode with "democratic" revolutions against the dictatorships and "constitutional monarchies" etc. The complexity of actions/inactions and the reasons for it are in hot debate. The massive suffering is unreal;  killings, torturings, amputations, losses of loved ones.
The nuclear accident caused by the earthquake/tsunami in Japan is proving once again that nuclear electricity generation is a very, very bad idea. Even the Russian accident in 1957 is in the news as the residents of the area are still effected to this day as the 200,000 year half life of radiation effects is still contaminating the area and its river. People are suffering from the Chernobyl accident indefinitely as well. Nuclear has so many hidden costs economically and with radiation dangers such as its mining and refining, disposal and cost per lifetime of the plants, without even starting into the operational and meltdown, war target, and nuclear weapons production categories !! The human race must get the Industrial/capitalist/monopoly civilization replaced by the Electronic Civilization as soon as possible. We must GO SOLAR, we must MAKE LOVE NOT WAR. No More Nukes !! Japan has radiation distributions of toxic levels in the water, air and food of the region, the devastation of the nuclear plant is a disaster which will be a hazard and expense for many years, and the horrific devastation by the earthquake/tsunami is so hard on the people as well. I feel so sorry for all the worlds suffering people. Especially since it is unnecessary !! There are earthquake resistant monolithic dome buildings and homes available ! There is Solar ( all Renewables) instead of Nukes, there is financial/infrastructure warfare instead of fighting. If one were to offer every one in a country a car or house if they would not obey a single command from the ruling organizations, those regimes would be out of power immediately. But again the financial world doesn't care about good or evil or democracy. It only cares and acts for its own profit.
Back to the Arab world. Self-defense is all the population needs, the removal of the regime must be accomplished by any means necessary (Elimination of the ruling organization can be accomplished by cutting off all their finances and communications ( all as in ALL). The total shut down of electricity (computers)water, food shipments fuel, all bank/commercial transactions. This was discovered by the Allies at the end of WWII when they started bombing the fuel depots and munitions plants instead of trying to engage directly as much and in review the military strategists said that if Japan had hit the fuel tanks instead of the ships it would have done far, far worse damage to the ability of the U.S. to fight the pacific theater for years. As new ships were sent from S.F. quickly but the fuel was far harder to get from Indonesia in those quantities now that Japan had control of those areas. So stop the violence by running them out of oil, bullets, electricity, in short the means to make war. But try to get that past the military/industrial money machine of today. ha ha They like using all that expensive , thrilling powerful exotic jets and tanks and drones and........the longer it goes on the more money they make to replace the hardware and the more population reduction.
Cut off the deals. This of course requires all the financial parties to participate. The U.N., E.U. USA, China, Russia, Arab League, Oil companies, Banks, Oil buyers like Italy for Libyan oil, etc. would all need to agree. Freezing all funds, all transactions not just silly sanctions, but a complete ceasing of all financial relations with the rulers. This of course is actually against the principles of Capitalism, which is the common denominator of all the worlds political/military/industrial organizations.  and microscopic targeting of infrastructure going to the ruling organization at its headquarters. This is difficult to implement because money is more important than the peoples objectives for democracy. Everybody buys everything with money if no one would except the ruling organizations money they could not continue to rule. Arm the forces of democracy.
The U.S. Government spends half its entire budget on the Pentagon/Contractors, it is the worlds largest seller of weapons. It is in the business of war for profit and control of oil reserves. It doesn't want to be seen as opposing democracy as that is the phoney front to the naked truth of corporate/elite rule. If the majority of the population is for issues and the mass media can control the message and misinform the population they can be fooled into voting against their own interests. It is being done on a massive scale. So many are fooled. Its is very inconvenient to change ones own ideology if it doesn't fit the facts. We would rather ignore the scientific facts and make up some, especially if financial or social status is increased ! I mean one must live right ?.......... What a stupid thing to do give up truth for lies... in the long run it will get us... as it just did in Japan and Libya.
Democracy : is rule by the majority. ("You can fool ALL of the people SOME of the time, and you can fool SOME of the people ALL the time, but you cannot fool ALL of the people ALL of the time".)"The Truth will set you FREE", The biological evolutionary imperative is toward less domination/violence and more sharing/love ie: for example; Ocean mega eating frenzy with such creatures as: 400million years to 200 million years ago megasharks (megalodon).50 ft long, 50 tons. land based dinosaurs 65 million years ago. Previous to 100,000 years ago the mammal megafauna like Ursus maritimus tyrannus a bear which weighed over 2,000 lbs. Body forms have gotten smaller and less "weaponed" over time.  Humans don't have enormous sharp claws like a velociraptor or tiger saber teeth and care for the young is imperative. Our interpersonal violence rates have come steadily down over the centuries. In the Roman empire the statement "might is right" was the operational rule and life span averaged 21 years, and most young adults carried swords daily and died from violence. Today average lifespan is 65 + and most die of age/diet/lifestyle related diseases.
The Democratic Philosophy creates systems which are more fair and capable of change towards greater justice, freedom and efficiency than other opinion based social organizations (capitalism, communism, fascism, socialism, monarchy, etc.),  because of the combination of: voting after open discourse, fact checking, and evolutionary pressure towards sharing/love culture and away from domination/violence culture.
Population: numbers of humans/density/distribution.
The population numbers have many effects:  social organization, food, standards of living, sustainability, mass media, mob psychology, etc.
Technology: the scientific inventions and their practical effects on society.

Presently: March 2011
In the Arab world we see mass uprising against repressive regimes.  They demand more "Democracy". The Greeks invented democracy when the citizens of Athens defeated the Tyrannical Ruler from the wealthy class who was using the Spartan military to control them. After their victory the people sought to form a government based on the rule of the people, instead of rule of the wealthy elite. It was quite imperfect and had many discriminations and was easily corrupted, yet it was "the big idea" and it did function. The Greek Democracy first was invented in 508 B.C. just over 2500 years ago and didn't last long. Democracy didn't have a serious return until the United States was formed a couple of hundred years ago. President Jefferson stated that if there wasn't a revolution every 20 years, the wealthy would curtail democracy again. Of course he was right, it has.
In the Arab world there are "revolutions" going on to end dictatorship and replace it with some form of democracy. It is very complex. The simple reality is that a fight for control of political/economic power is occurring and the violence is extreme, people are being hurt and killed and suffering is intense. That the good will prevail, that some form of a more democratic ruling organization/laws will result is not clear. The process of increasing democracy is under attack by the establishment in all countries at all levels. In America the staged 9/11 attacks allowed passage of the Patriot Act which repeals all constitutional rights by enforcement easily. The financial crime of the century; the raiding of the U.S. treasury and total control by the Privately owned "Federal Reserve' of the economy with the collusion of the top banks allowed the gutting of social services including teachers, fire, police and civil engineering (infrastructure) health care, student loans, pensions, even the ability to negotiate union contracts, etc.
Population increases from 1 billion at the early 20th century to 7 billion in the early 21st century and the growth of megacities has brought on many changes. Your majority is all a bunch of egotistical, mean and ignorant fools, who are playing monopoly with corporations and stock markets, buying politicians who do their will and make tax breaks for the wealthy and corporations while ending programs for society. There is no hope for a brighter tomorrow without total collapse and replacement of this civilization form. Government at best is thought of as the guidance of society by those who vote in the laws. So if the fundamentalist christians get in they can make a law making abortion or sexual lifestyles illegal, etc. anything goes, any group can take control and enforce its values on the rest. The corporatocracy is in control and is inacting its values of profit/market share over environment, social equality, human rights etc. We no longer have even a weak democracy we have the double speak spin of democracy wherein the "blue sky act" actually allows pollution, and the "right to work' acts allow corporations and governments to fire anyone for anything, anytime. Economic imperatives allow everything to be reduced to money, greed rules and all suffer, but the rich. Always has been that way, democracy is an easily corrupted system. Today however with TECHNOLOGY we have a situation in which total control can be obtained of the population by surveilance, economic employment, market manipulation, mass marketing by using computers, TV, internet, mass media controls the message and therefore the options. Corporations paint themselves as the providers of jobs, goods and services which are the real benefits of civilization, the ability to be rich too. In reality their positives are offset by NO LESS than the destruction of the biosphere and destruction of a decent standard of living of all but the elite. The scientific facts are in, but people make opinions and decisions based on social and ideological beliefs not facts, unfortunately, for most, usually.
We could move beyond all opinion based political systems to fact based systems wherein scientific information and its resulting necessities are accounted for and distribution of goods and services for maximum standard of living for all the Earths people. "with liberty and justice for all" as stated in the U.S. Constitution, equality should be in there too ! We don't need billionairs and billions in poverty, we need equality for women, all racial groups, young and old, equality the old blind justice is a value we must strive for to insure no one has a reason for terrorism or forcing their will on others because they have been repressed and denied equality. Democracy should be the free discourse of facts to form consensus. Direct Democracy is when all can vote on everything, with computers we can keep track of every humans detailed financial life, so vote counting on all issue by jurisdiction is easy. Open internet forums and voting would allow TRUE DEMOCRACY and make Representational Democracy obsolete. We don't need representatives anymore at all. Political parties are not necessary. Only the truth and GOOD are necessary. EVIL (ego, selfishness, greed, deception for gain, profits without regard to society or environment, etc.) is not necessary. Neutrality is a fiction. It doesn't exist in the real world, take for example the life need for water , you either drink it or you don't, you either die or you live by such action/inaction. There is no .... "well i think i can take it or leave it or not consider water drinking"..... stupidity rules ! These are only mental projections not reality. "The spiritual dimension is real, the Physical dimension is also quite real , but the mental dimension is all in your head". TD

Moving Forward: walk this way....

Moving Forward is fantastic ! The new edition to the Zeitgeist movies is presented in a much more mainstream friendly way. Having the animations for the Monopoly Game and the interviews with leading scientists such as Sapolsky , a world class professor who is featured in the National Geographic program: STRESS (which is shown to be a killer, as it is inherent in domination/violence societies) creates a movie which is a less dark documentary which, for most, easy to turn away from, to a narrative of easy to grasp explanations. The primitive "might is right" and "wealth has the right" philosophy of operation which has ruled the world from empires of violence and exploitation throughout the thousands of years of human civilization is now clearly destroying the planet and us. We now can switch to the superior philosophy of sharing/love organization. Great philosophers and prophets like Socrates, Jesus and Buddha have said from all times that we could turn away from violence and oppression, but it takes the very threat of extinction to get us to change, well , some of us. Like birds and dinosaurs, some will try hard to grow wings and learn to fly and most will like the tyrannasaurus of global corporatocracy refuse to look at reality, choosing to only associate with social group old think. We need to think in a new way, experience consciousness in a new way , the whole being. The being of the planet and all life and all humanity as in harmony.
"What the Bleep" has shown with quantum mechanics that we are all one, and "Global Brain" has shown that to form a single cell organism, a brain, or a global society a number around 10 billion creates the complexity necessary to create a higher functioning organizational reality of "ONE" new entity on the new higher level. As Moving Forward shows we can now create a new global human organization which is sustainable, fair and wonderfully advanced with high levels of love, technology and ecological balance.
The next steps for each of us are; how can we further the understanding and how can we start creating it ? By having these movies we can spread the understandings to many. To create it.... well..... between the understanding, the enlightenment, and the new organization of civilization, is a very messy and unclear area. In evolution of species such as the fish to amphibians to reptiles to mammals, and in the evolution of civilization types as the hunter/gatherers to agricultural to industrial; it is always a small group making the change first before the growth and adoption of the majority. Most people are concerned with following the social order, being in conformity with it, not with being creative and going off on a new social value system. That is why the first steps toward the Future by Design will be taken I believe by small groups forming model ecotowns in which the new values of efficiency, justice, and freedom can be lived. In which the social and environmental values can be nurtured with local production and a coherent social group. The designs for solar architecture, solar electricity , electronic exchange, organic gardening, electric transportation, media studios, clothing and furniture shops and so on. I believe that just like Edison with the light bulb, or Bell with the telephone, people don't believe it is worth investing themselves in unless it is already proven to work in at least one case.
If civilization goes through a period of World War , deep economic collapse, natural disasters, and so on ecotowns would be like lifeboats of knowledge and tools to recreate civilization on a higher level , just as the monasteries did for the knowledge of the Greek and Roman civilizations which was lost for hundreds of years. The ecotowns set up around the world could be the network for larger growth, all the way up to space stations and ocean cities. It is so much easier to construct the new than to remodel the old architecture and social structures of the capitalistic/industrial establishment institutions of: academia, the military, corporate, government and residential cultural geography. The limits to growth and limitations by laws, customs, regulations, inspections, etc. disallow fundamental change in the established cities. Some new civilization futurists can "hide in the crowd" in current mega-cities where the monopoly board is now, with most of the money, expertise, entertainment, and infrastructure, yet they are the least capable of really deep fundamental change to new architectural and social forms. Evolution works by starting small and then growing; from a single fertilized cell to trillions in a baby, and from a new prototype individual mutation to a population with the new trait, evolution works by moving from the small to the large. So I think it is unlikely that a wholescale revolt/revolution, dropping out of the monetary system, throwing away our current houses, buildings, family, friends, and work relations which are clinging to the old system will just occur at some breakpoint. I think at a breakpoint it is already to late to build the lifeboat. Another analogy is that as we are like the Titanic on a collision course with destiny, we need to get the lifeboats ready now. When the trouble hits, it will be panic and confusion, not a clear understanding by all to start building the gleaming city of ecotopia. A small ecotown which is self-sufficient seems to me the way to proceed now toward  the civilization of the Future by Design which the Venus Project so clearly shows. Please see the movie: Moving Forward at zeitgeistmovie.com and see thevenusproject.com ( the awareness 1-4 and blogs are fantastic). Thx Theodore P. S. I've started writing stories and documents for the Kindle Store ! Look me up, thx, Theodore Desmarais : )

New Year , New Chances for Electronic Exchange

Meeting with ValueCard this week. check out IRTA.com and see the initial steps to take toward a Resource Based , Equality Based Socio-Economic World. Electronic Exchange (internet/credit/barter) as in the movie "Lost Horizon " from the thirties, is the exchange of goods and services, with the value of the currency based on the products and services in the network , this is actually very different than "money" which is "political power" and can be owned, hoarded, stolen, etc. exchange credits are only good for 'stuff' in the network and cannot be "owned" and used as "legal tender for debts, loans, greed, etc. So "Reciprocal Trading" is a good step towards a Resource based Economy that needs no money or exchange credits at all. See The Venus Project.com, Lots of Love, Happy New Year. Theodore

Ending Marijuana Prohibition: Constitutional Gov't

Prohibitions are laws or taboos designed to punish, reduce and eliminate behaviors or practices deemed unacceptable by a society. This Is "legislating morality," it is a form of domination by one point of view over the others. For all animal societies (except Bonobos and Dolphins), and our own throughout all of our history and prehistory, we have had the social order by Absolute Competition rather than by Relative Cooperation. This means in practical terms that we "fight" for our place, rights, laws, for employment and all social status. Status in females is primarily beauty/childbearing and for males is primarily authority/finances. Our Rights and position in a hierarchy are all "fought" for. Females have competition by  display and males have competition by violence, primarily in one form or another. We see "might as right". There are many examples one recently occurred in which a Smith Barney Fund manager; Martin Erzinger, ran over a cyclist causing bleeding from the brain and spinal cord damage, and he fled the scene. A hit and run of very serious proportions. He is being let off with only minor charges as the establishment prosecuter, Mark Hurlbert said, "felony convictions have some serious job implications for someone in Mr. Erzinger's profession, and that entered into it". Clearly not blind justice. Clearly the might of social status, socio-economic inequality of the most blatant and "in your face" type. (11/2010)LA times. I don't believe the legal system of punishment and prisons help anyone at all, and we need educational and behavioral intervention, however the inequality of the wealthy being treated differentially is reaching obscene levels.
The Founding Fathers of the U.S. Constitution would be outraged. They clearly set up this Gov't to be literally "By the people, Of the People, and For the People". They tried to set up a Gov't in which: democracy, the rule of law, equality and justice for all, and accountability, in short Relative Cooperation, would prevail and not the rule of those with Wealth and Authority over those without, those with only truth and good will on their side. Over the centuries the Constitutional Gov't has been overtaken by the formidable forces of the military/industrial complex, corporate empires, and the extremely wealthy. So that now in the age of electronic surveillance the nightmares written of in Geoge Orwells book, 1984, are true. The latest Xbox game has cameras on it to look into the room with audio as well and monitor anyone there. This is easily tapped into by the Top Secret America (see PBS frontline special/archives airing 1/2011),(report by the Washington Post). The People are being systematically dominated by our ability to exist financially. Employment/Income is "THE" factor for: justice in courts, travel, education, communications, food, and of course cultural values, behaviors and practices. The "Rights" of the Poor, the Sexually progressive, the entheogen users, all those who are not conforming to the corporate culture are abused. It is happening world wide and always has been by those in Power, however now it is far more total and far more invasive. The Spanish Inquisition was no picnic I'm sure, yet today most are unaware of the reality of the situation as we are conditioned to believe it is not so. This domination based society is based on absolute authority using the financial system primarily, to maintain and expand its existence and control. Quite the opposite of what the Constitution wished to create. We now have several social movements for Homosexuals and Bisexuals in marriage and "don't ask, don't tell", in the military, ending Cannabis Prohibition, Local currencies, funding groups which promote environmental and animal protection.
The functions of the Government are to protect our country physically, from domination, provide for the general welfare, and to serve as an entity to administer interstate and international discourse. So in other words: for protection all we need is self-defense, for providing we need: (as in FDR's second bill of rights) Education, Employment,  Infrastructure (transportation, energy, media, food, clothing, and housing), and freedom from all those who would prohibit behavior, practices, and beliefs on the basis of religion or ideology not on mutual freedoms and rights, ie: separation of church and state and freedom of the press, jury by peer, freedom from cruel and unusual punishment etc.
So this is not operating correctly at all. We are still like animals "fighting' for domination and those in power decide what is acceptable or not. And those in power are certainly the biggest corporations and wealthiest and most politically powerful (white males) in a culture of ideology/religious thinking/behaving of "might is right", heterosexual monogamy only society, uniforms; like business suits, greed, and oppression of those who live otherwise is the norm.
We all are on this Earth together and we all need to get along together, "to form a more perfect union". To have a peaceful, wonderful, sustainable, progressing world, we must learn to use Relative Cooperation instead of Absolute Competition. We need to stop trying to use Gov't to control instead using it correctly only to Protect, Provide, and Interact.
So for Marijuana and other substances it is clear , that just as with Alcohol, Prohibiton does not work to control its use. It only creates a cops and robbers game in which the powerful make lots of money and the corruption of the legal system occurs and many people's lives are ruined. If one believes something is wrong, then they may try to educate others as to why, and the results will become clear. If it is a victimless crime it is not a crime. Strong efforts to help alcoholics and other addicts exist and should be expanded until no addicts exist. If you are for its use then it is clear the Gov't should not enact dominating laws/enforcement to try to impose some fraction of societies beliefs on us. It is quite clear the scientific proof shows Cannabis is far less harmful than Alcohol or Nicotine, which it taxes and regulates, ending the black market, inter-gang violence, federal/gang wars of the earlier part of the 20th century. The tide is turning for public opinion in favor of ending Cannabis Prohibiton. Cannabis is a fantastic substance ! Used in moderation it is the analog of Anadamide your brains own "thc" which has receptors in your pleasure centers, memory and movement, it is a real medicine for PTSD, MS, Chemo, Glacoma, Sexual libido dysfunction, alzeheimers, etc. Cannabis is a wonderful recreational substance that needs to be legal.  Yet so much needs to happen to do this. It is imperative that in the decades ahead we work to create a Gov't truly, "of , by and for the people."

November in Sedona

The tragedy of this Dominator Society continues, some much pain and suffering everyday its worse. I use the sad news to reinforce my resolve to create a self-sufficient home. Some of the highlights presently are: the Federal Reserve dumped 6 billion into the financial sector causing more speculative bubbles as the price of basic commodities went up. The money which is meant to stabilize the economy actually does not in the long run, it is a stimulus for a short time and then more money is needed to keep up the runaway monopoly effect. Greed rules and the rich are celebrating the Republican party (Gov't by the Corporations) take over of the House of Reps. A hedge fund manager for Smith Barney, Martin Erzinger ran over a cyclist and ran from the scene; anyone else would have felony charges , the police sited "serious job implications for someone in Mr. Erzinger's profession". It has become unequal justice for all . Blind justice is gone. We all know its never been really fair and that prison helps no one, especially real criminal minds it just takes them to the criminal college, however it is so blatant now. The police will even release press releases saying it directly. If your rich your good, if your poor your bad and will go to jail; paid for of course by us all in many ways and will support the corrupt prisons, and systems. Run for cover the End is Here. The end of Justice and Freedom. We have been watching it coming for many years and now it is quite visible for all to see who are not conforming to the Establishment and who are creating the Emergent new systems based on the new values of Society and Environment. T.
